Un(e) convive = a guest
Un invité(e) = un(e) invité(e)
La maitresse de maison ou l’hôtesse = The hostess
Le maitre de maison ou l’hôte = The host

#2 French verbs around partying in French

Recevoir = to entertain/ to host
Inviter = to invite
Faire l’apéro / l’apéro = to have drinks
Faire la fête/ faire la teuf = to party
Fêter = to celebrate
Organiser une soirée = To host a party (evening)
trinquer = to cheer
Un apéritif dînatoire = buffet
Mettre la table = to set the table
Débarrasser la table = to clear the table

#3 French expressions around partying!

Assieds-toi / assois-toi = sit down
Asseyez-vous/ assoyez-vous : sit-down (formal or ‘you all’)
À votre santé = Cheers (formal)
A ta santé = Cheers (informal)
La préséance : Action of serving ladies before gentlemen.
Le service à la française : Reference to showing and presenting the dishes on the left of the guests, and let them help themselves.
