Beaucoup de or beaucoup du?

Parlez vous français ? If you do, then you’ve surely come across the delightful phrase “beaucoup de.”…

#1 Remember to always use DE after:

‘Beaucoup‘ such as ‘je voudrais beaucoup de sauce !’ (I would like a lot of sauce!)

‘Assez’ such as ‘Est-ce que tu as assez d’argent sur toi ?’ (Do you have enough change with you?)

‘Un peu’ such as ‘Il y a un peu de vent aujourd’hui’  (There’s a little bit of wind today)

‘De’ is the same than ‘of’ in a lot of, enough of, or a bit of. 

You ALWAYS say ‘beaucoup de, assez de, un peu de’. 

If ‘DE’ is followed by a noun starting with a vowel, drop the ‘E’ par exemple 

You never say ‘du’, ‘des’ ou ‘de la’ following beaucoup, assez, un peu

Nous n’avons pas assez de temps ! We don’t have enough time

Il voudrait beaucoup de café ! He ‘d like a lot of coffee!

Est-ce que tu as beaucoup d’amis ? Do you have a lot of friends?

Je voudrais un peu de lait, s’il vous plaît. I’d like a bit of milk
